Gran Turismo Europa 2011

Day 1 - Germany and Oktoberfest in Munich

We will start in Munich on the 1st of October with check-in to Westin Grand Hotel in Munich. We will have traditional Bavarian dinner and then move to have a beer in a beer tent in the city. Please note that we are starting our event at the final and most busy weekend of Oktoberfest. It will be a circus, but the beers will still be cold.

Day 2 - Switzerland

Starting in the morning after our night out at Oktoberfest we drive to Zurich for a factory visit and lunch. After that we drive our first mountain pass to Interlaken where we stay at the majestic Grand Hotel beau rivage Interlaken. Dinner at a secret location on a mountain top.

Day 3 and 4 - Italy

Now the real fun begins, on roads that are so profoundly beautiful that they will take your breath away. We drive to Italy through the famous Stelvio Pass and end up in Hotel Splendid in Baveno by Lake Maggiore. This hotel is one of our favourites and! we will stay here for two nights. Enough time to relax by the lake and take it calma with the Italians.

During day two in Italy it is time for a classic. It is time to drive south to Modena, Maranello and St Agata for the compulsory factory visits. We are going to the Lamborghini factory and the Ferrari museum. On the way home we stop outside Milan for some shopping.

Day 5 and 6 – French Alps

And, there is more to the profound beauty in the French part of the Alps. The drive to Aix-Les-Bains (we have no idea how to pronounce it) will take us through some spectacular mountain highways as if taken directly from computer games and the movies. You with loud cars will truly enjoy all the tunnels and gallerias. We stay at Abbaye les Talloires which is housed in an old monastery. It also houses a very good French restaurant where we have dinner.

Day 7 and 8 – Cote d’Azur and Saint-Tropez

This is one of the longest legs of our road trip, the drive down from the French Alps to Cote d’Azur and Saint-Tropez. It is also a spectacular road recommended by our friends at EVO magazine in London. We arrive to La Tartane in Saint-Tropez were we stay for two nights.
Did we mention that we have rented a racetrack? It is roughly 30 minutes north of Saint-Tropez and has been used for formula one testing. We have it for a full day and you will be able to test your own car or why not rent a formula one car for a few laps?
The event ends with a closing party in Saint-Tropez and you check out from the hotel by lunchtime on the 8th of October.
