Less than two weeks ago Infiniti announced its name as EMERG-E. It is an electric powered "uncompromising" sports car with range-extended capability featuring a 1.2-liter engine mounted mid-ship for optimal weight distribution and handling.

Infiniti emphasizes the EMERG-E will be the first car from the brand to not only have a range-extender drivetrain but offer "vivid performance" with zero emissions capability.

Excellent, pour une nouvelle c'est une nouvelle; si l'on fait abstraction du design, nous avons sur les yeux une Lotus EVORA 414E hybride. En fait, la voiture est anglaise et non japonaise, voir au pire européenne. Deux véhicules roulants seront assemblés pour évaluation. Le détail.

Il est quand même dommage que cette Emerg-E qui n'est qu'une Evora 414e Hybride re-carrossée soit plus belle que son modèle d'origine. Avec une telle ligne, même adoptée par la version essence, Lotus exploserait les ventes.

Speaking with Inside Line, Shiro Nakamura said the company is still considering a flagship. Nothing has been green-lighted, but Infiniti is mulling a sedan, a crossover and a production version of the Emerg-E concept. If the latter is chosen, it could be built in Britain by Lotus.
